McDonald’s LPGA Championship

Hung out at the course for a few hours then packed it in. The cloud cover that cooled the morning wave disappeared early in the afternoon which left the group out of shoot number two (a little rodeo lingo) baking the rest of the day.

Sad news: The father of Jon Yarbrough, Morgan Pressell’s caddie, passed away.  Jon headed home this morning.

Stuff happens: It’s all about how you deal with it. Just six minutes before putting the peg in the ground for the opening round in a Major, is not the best entrance your caddie may make but it didn’t seem to fluster Meaghan Francella yesterday. She shot -2. Some players would go into an immediate tailspin and blame their looper the rest of the day. Bad karma and all that rot. Kudos to her.

My first web interview: Check it out at The Dagger Press.

The ‘caddie scramble’: Not another impromptu golf get-together among compadres but a search for experienced bag-toters for next Monday’s Open qualifier. Looks as if many caderos are skipping the grueling 36 hole tortuous marathon in 90+ degree heat for a day off. I know of at least five players looper-looking.

I’m a travelin’ man … How about this itinerary for Jin Joo Hong and her caddie, Miles. After they complete the LPGA Championship, the duo must put in thirty-six more at the Open qualifier then it’s off to Korea for another event and back again to Rochester!

What’s ‘left’ in the bag? Liz Janangelo’s third blog is another good one and is something every player may associate with. Old fruit is one of the worst surprises. Liz’s answers to A Quick 18 aren’t bad either. If she doesn’t have a fan club, she should have. No, I will not be President.

Caddies, start your engines! That just may be the call during our visit to Springfield IL this year. In an effort to provide a different twist to satisfy the tour caddie’s sprit of competition, a go-kart race is in the works to determine the most crashworthy of us all. The winner receives a prize package and primo parking spot in the player’s lot for the week. All we may need is a name for the contest. Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear about your change up. (If you feel like answering..) Do PGA tour players change caddies this much? Seems weird that caddies take so much heat for bad play. Your blog is always an entertaining read. Thanks

  2. lifeontour Says:

I doubt it Alan. The guys know the value of an experienced caddie.

How about “TOUR DE SPRING LOOPER 08″ or “LOOPER LOOP 08″

    Cheers,

Well, it’s official. No more Bulle Rock after next year, and no more McDonald’s
