1st Stage Qualifier-Venice FL

Never did get work but I wasn’t looking very hard either. Hung out with rules official Robert O. Smith by the 16th green for a bit then we moved over to the 13th fairway. The pace of play seems to get better as each year passes until they reach the big time.

Burn baby burn! I doubt if that was what the driver of the big-rig was saying while watching his truck go up in flames. Around Flagstaff AZ and on his way yo Danville, his rear breaks locked up producing enough heat to catch fire. Nothing he could do but wait for it to turn into a pile of cinders. Oh, by the way, the truck was carrying the IDS Real-time Scoring System used by the LPGA. Electronic scoreboards, computers, scoring software, radios  and all the other necessities are now toast. There is duplicate equipment. Maybe it’s nearby at the Samsung.

Quotable quotes: Analyzing the stressful situation of the finality of Q-School brought about this little gem. “It’s tough to play through your own puke.”

Where should I have put my money? In trying times like these, wouldn’t it be nice to go back in time and make sure that your investments paid off. Woody passes along this great piece of advice albeit a bit late.

If you had purchased $1,000 of Delta Air Lines stock one year ago, you would have $49 left.

With Fannie Mae, you would have $2.50 left of the original $1,000

With AIG, you would have less than $15 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drunk all of the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling refund, you would have $214 cash.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Its called the 401-Keg.

Lightning equipment was also on the IDS truck, although there is a possibility that it was spared from incineration. There is duplicate equipment at the Samsung, so it is easily transported to Danville, although there won’t be as time to set things up. However, the equipment usually leapfrogs to every other tournament, so Kapalua could be a problem.

    Larry,
How much would Sam save on Mountatin Dew cans?
