My Player is Moira Dunn
The wind eased and the scores dropped. Plenty of red on the board.
Another ho-hum day hobnobbing with the rich and famous at the club. A guy can used to this real fast.
I wasn’t the only one.

Albatross sighting: Check out the fifth hole on Marianne Skarpnord’s card.
Looking back: Former LPGA pro, Silvia Bertolaccini, is in the booth doing TV commentary. A few of us veterans had a good sit-down with her this morning. It was great reminiscing about the good ol’ days and the changes that have transpired. We agreed, all things considered, it was better back then.
Getting her money’s worth: I guess that’s what was on Song Yi Choi’s mind after missing the cut. Made her looper work Saturday and Sunday then fired him!
¿No Comprende? Alejandra Martin Del Campo was disqualified yesterday for playing with clubs that had the banned square grooves. She had do idea about the new rule. The infarction was noticed by one of her playing partners who by coincidence, played those exact same clubs before the change. More below.
I want to know … and so do all the players and caddies who were at three over and missed the cut. Now I here that a playing partner during the first two rounds noticed that Del Campo was using illegal clubs. If so, she should have been DQ’d and the threes would have been playing the weekend. If said player did know and didn’t say anything, she is complicit and should be taken to the woodshed. If she did turn her in, the onus is on the officials. What is the real story?
The queen is dead … Shin Win Might Send Ochoa Out at No. 2
Add two: The LPGA will be in Morelia for at least another couple years I’ve heard.
One of my best? A discussion arose about how many drivers in Mexico actually have insurance coverage which had me opine “Instead of no-fault insurance, down here it’s called your-fault.” Ba-da-bing!
That’s bull! In the ring that is. In fact, right next door to our hotel. El toro will spend his last day on earth as witnessed by a small LPGA contingent scattered among the locals.
Heads will roll: A decapitated body graced the front page of today’s paper. So what else is new?
Words of wisdom: The practice chipping balls are marked with a huge red dot, about the size of a quarter, in an effort not to mix them with the range balls. When one player complained that she could not chip with such a distraction, her veteran caddie found a solution that had escaped his Einstein-esk player. “Put the red dot down” was all he said.
Words of inspiration: “Imagine a new story for your life and start living it.” Posted in the Tournament Office.
Get a life and get out of Mexico!
