The last two days have been occupied with geek stuff. Resetting and securing Dina’s wireless router then reinstalling Michelle McGann’s wireless driver that somehow was corrupted. My advice concerning the backup of Michelle’s photos hit home, so I was asked to find her a portable hard drive and did just that at Fry’s Electronics. A Maxtor One Touch 4 Mini 160 GB USB drive for $90-discounted from $130-fit the bill and now everything is securely backed up. Dina was next to take my advice so it was another trip to Fry’s but they were out of stock. The Best Buy next door had plenty though.

This is good advice for everyone if you have irreplaceable data, photos and video just waiting to be lost if your hard drive fails but you’re not totally covered yet. If both the original and backup are together and they are stolen or succumbs to a fire, that backup didn’t do the job. I use Carbonite online backup for the final touch. Check it out in the PC Stuff page.

At your beck and call Princess: Lisa Kiggens is in town and teed it up yesterday with Dina, her dad and a few locals in their weekly get-together. I was stuck babysitting Lisa’s pooch Chester.

Good one: For all those who have seen both disturbing flicks-‘No Country For Old Men’ and ‘There Will Be Blood’-you have to check out the SNL parody I Drink Your Milkshake.
