Rain halted play just after the first group hit their second shot. After resuming, it was clear sailing.
They played ‘ball in hand’ but I heard a group off the back missed the notice and played nine holes without the luxury of using the lift clean and place option.
Motion started a caddie hole-in-one pool this week and it didn’t take long for someone to hit. Jodi Ewart aced the 15th, via the back door, with a nine iron and followed up with another eagle two holes later.
Katherine Hull made it to the weekend in dramatic fashion. Finishing on the front nine yesterday, she eagled the par five eighth from the fairway then canned a long par putt on the final hole.
Spent most of the day in the caddie tent talking trash and eating b’day cake. Thanks to Wegmans for providing the goods and Caddie Master Ralph for making it happen. Plenty was left over, since half the loopers didn’t make the weekend, so the remainder found its way to the Dorkat lobby.
Talk about a caddie generation gap. One young whippersnapper eyed the Grim Reaper on my cake and uttered "Oh, the Dark Knight."
