And So It Begins

The first tournament trailer for the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic arrived yesterday. Two or three more will follow along with all the accoutrements associated with a first class PGA event. They will reside behind the cart barn on what was half of the employee parking lot. The grunts are now relegated to the main lot for the duration.

The erection of the grandstands should commence in short order. Hope they’ll be donning hardhats. The area short and to the right of the18th green will be especially vulnerable. FORE!

As noted by Ozzy in a previous comment section, Lydia Ko, Michelle Wie and Yani Tseng are paired together. That should create a buzz and acquire the largest gallery.

Then there was this:

Zilch, nada, bupkis. Hold on. There is something.

Black Widow, we really call them “red backs” as in the song, ‘There’s a red back on the toilet seat’ –

I do hope she still went to a medical centre or hospital and had it looked at properly.

  2. bocajr says:

Larry, aren’t they a little early setting up. the event is in like 5 or 6 weeks? any extra grunt work for you setting up, after all you had experience with ken young in the 80’

I guess they’re getting a running start bocajr. I remember my one week on the Ken Young crew vividly. Roomed with Hatchet. Dave Allen and Ken’s son were also on the team. It was at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale. The tour was in Hawaii and I stayed behind. A free room and cash in my pocket but we earned every penny.

  3. Ozzy says:

Just a quick update from Ladies Aust. Open. Lydia Ko 5 under after 6 holes (Tied 1), Wie – Even, Tseng – 3 under.

  4. Ozzy says:

Sorry, but I have to post these score updates: Thru 11 Holes, Ko – 7 under (tied 1), Tseng – 5 under, Wie bring up the rear in the group +3. (10 stroke difference just in one group after 11 holes)

  5. lawyergolfer says:

Ozz, how can u be rooting for a korean? really..u dissapoint me. PS how can they allow Tammie Durdin to still play on tour…hack personified…and a transgender…what a

    • Ozzy says:

She’s a Kiwi, see the Flag against her name. Yes, she may been born in Korea or wherever, but she plays for NZ under the NZ Flag.

  6. bocajr says:

    Michelle Wie(won/t)…with a 9 on number 18, oops….must be caddies fault

  7. Ozzy says:

Ko finished 10 Under, Tseng – 5 under and Wie at 1 over. Ko currently leads by 1.

  8. Ozzy says:

Will the following read sound like, I’ve heard it all before…..

    Wie: A phenomenal talent stifled

    • lifeontour says:

Michelle’s relationship with her parents is akin to Stockholm syndrome. She just can’t break away. So sad.

      • Bookem Danno says:

David Feherty did a one hour piece on The Big Won’t. One Hour. And not a single word about her parents. And they were living just around the corner from her at Stanford. A totally empty fluffy hour show. All “canned”, phony answers from Wie. A waste of our time, David.
Almost all her official earnings the last year and a half come from “no-cut” tournaments.
Earning Solheim points at these tournaments also. How unfair is that to the upcoming Americans ranked 10 – 20?

    • Frank Michaels says:

She is in her 20’s now…when is the golfing world going to forget waiting for this Wunder Brat to ‘break out’…?? There are so many young, talented players working hard to achieve what Wie got and gets for doing nothing. Parents or no parents. Maybe she really isn’t as good as everyone thinks she is.

      • bocajr says:

she has always had Val Skinner syndrome. Every shot has to be shaped wether its a wedge or 6 iron, leading to lots of short sided situations. She just cant hit a wedge 15 feet in the middle of the green, some players just get in there own way.

      • Frank Michaels says:

bocajr…I don’t know much about her ball striking, but she putts like crap…8-10 handicapp skill level…

    • Cougar says:

      New caddie?

  9. Ozzy says:

OK, who is going to come Third in the Australian Open! Seeing that the first 2 spots is between Koh and Shin.

As a side note, if Koh wins the Australian Open, she will have won 3 Tournaments within the Commonwealth within 12 months. The Canadian Open in August ’12, New Zealand Open last week and Australian Open.

  10. bocajr says:

pity the poor local caddie who thinks he is going to get a big check if she wins….10% of zero is still zero. ps there is no age limit for getting lasik surgery, i’ve had it.

    • Ozzy says:

Maybe in NZ there is a minimum age limit.

    • Ozzy says:

JR, Ko’s caddie was her housing in Sydney for the NSW Womens Open, and he caddied for her there where she finished second. She asked him to work this week.

      • bocajr says:

the poor club champ at the vancouver event last year..his wife was in the caddie tent before the final round and was asking how much the first place check was. OF course I burst her bubble by saying Ko will receive nada for winning, the wife thinking her hubby was in for a big score. NOT

      • Ozzy says:

I wonder if the wife and hubby are still together after that!!

  11. Somehow I don’t think the champ at a ritzy private club
is too terribly in need of 10% of the first place check…..
