For the second time in as many tries, our high-roller event was canceled due to a horrific storm. The torrent started in the wee hours and continued throughout the morning. High winds and lighting sure didn’t help matters much. Like the last time, it cleared in the afternoon and a few diehards went out to play.
There was one benefit to the Fallen Oak staff though. The steak and baked potatoes (as big as a baby’s noggin) left over from the luncheon was ours to feast on when the patrons departed.
Unfortunately, ours wasn’t the only event impacted by the storm. There was a little get-together up in Georgia that took a bit of a hit.
A former LPGA player – from a bygone era – is on tomorrow’s tee sheet. I’ll give you a hint. She has one tournament win, trumping Betsy King by two strokes. Any guesses?
