2014 MGRC – Round One

Split tees had us actually enjoying the sunset on the drive home. Tomorrow they’re all off the first tee. I work from ten till close but in the cart barn instead of the range.

BTW the range never looked so good during this event. We did a great job. 🙂

Freddy Couples leads with a 66.

Larry, just changing sports for a moment. Opening games of the 2014 MLB Season is being played in Sydney, Australia between LA Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks. This is being played on the Sydney Cricket Ground – “hallow turf of cricket”.

It took 10 days to transform the field from cricket to baseball. After the 2nd game on Sunday afternoon, the field must be transformed back to its original state as there will be a rugby league game played on it in 10 days time.

The game is being televised LIVE throughout Australia, the USA and other Countries. The Dodgers won 3-1. Return game is tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon.

don’t know how American baseball can compete with cricket!! OMG

    • Ozz says:

38,000 in attendance per game, almost a sellout for both games. It has been 100 years since the last MLB game was played in Sydney. They are looking at possible playing here every 4 years.

      Bit more trivia:
The Sydney Cricket Ground (1877) is a lot older then Wrigley Field and Fenway Park.

  3. jrboca says:

probably because baseball wasn’t played til after 1877..
