2014 U.S. Women’s Open Sectional Qualifying

😦 Drove through some high water yesterday. Now the check engine light is on and the idle is too high.

Dumping buckets here. The road to my place floods at times like these but this was the worst I’ve ever seen.

Beth Ann Nichols@GolfweekNichols The Airbus LPGA Classic will feature a long drive competition on Runway 18 at Brookley Field. @Brittany1golf has committed. Sounds fun!

Paula Creamer@ThePCreamer Unfortunately I withdrew from North Texas today. After playing all 9 LPGA events this year, I need to rest and refocus! #listentingtomybody

Beth Ann Nichols@GolfweekNichols Lydia Ko is taking the week off but Inbee will be in Texas to defend along with local fave Stacy Lewis, Suzann Pettersen and Michelle Wie.

Playing Tough

April 24, 2014

Predictions on the difficulty of the Lake Merced track seem spot on. Plenty of high numbers.

Was going to volunteer to help clean up Deer Island on Earth Day but nixed that idea after seeing how many players we have this week. Busy, busy, busy starting yesterday so I decided to rest up. Worked till well after dark.

Daytona Beach’s LPGA community has seen mixed success

A disappointing course design and lack of tournament fan support didn’t help. If the LPGA had any cash they would probably relocate.

Beth Ann Nichols@GolfweekNichols – Suzann Pettersen is in San Fran this week and scheduled to make her first start since pulling out of the Kia Classic with a back injury.

Ron Kroichick@ronkroichick – Lake Merced will be hard for #LPGA event. @ThePCreamer puts winning score at 5-under if wind blows. @Stacy_Lewis guesses 6 to 10 under.

On Her Way

April 19, 2014

Looks as if Michelle Wie is taking charge.

Cashed in my complimentary breakfast at the Waffle House yesterday morning. Just so happened the district manager was paying a visit at the time. He personally apologized once more.

While I was eating, two bicyclists dripping wet from the morning drizzle, sat down next to me. Overheard them tell the waitress that they were on a trek from San Diego to St. Augustine. Had to be part of the Coast 2 Coast ride.

That’s what saw and heard outside my apartment this morning. Reminded me of the stun grenades used by the authorities to disorient the bad guys during a raid.

For a second, I thought a transformer exploded due to the thunderstorm and deluge that just receded. Went out to investigate but found nothing out of the ordinary.

Funny thing though, it didn’t startle me a bit. May have been desensitized by the noise of the storm.

I posted my poor Waffle House experience on the company’s Facebook page and was called by the district manager today. He assured me the employee’s behavior was against company policy and would be addressed. I also get a smoke-free, free breakfast next time I stop in.

It’s true, the squeaky wheel does get the grease or in this case, a free meal.

Wake Me When It’s Over

April 13, 2014

A Tigerless masters is like the difference between Viagra and a placebo. Plenty of anticipation but no pop in the end.

Stopped at the Waffle House at 7540 Tucker Rd. in Ocean Springs MS before going to work. Couldn’t believe two employees took a cigarette break (at different times) at the counter just a couple seats away from me.

Then three of them gathered within spitting distance to discuss their work. The main topic was a $100 take-out order taken over the phone that shouldn’t have been accepted. It was like I wasn’t even there.

There were only two other customers in the entire place. Couldn’t they go somewhere else?

The food was good but the experience sucked! Morons!

BTW. one of those other customers was so drunk he was wearing a good portion of his biscuits and gravy in his goatee.

Filed my taxes online with FreeTaxUSA back on the 2nd. Took less than a week to get my refund from the US Treasury and a couple more days from the state.

So much easier than sending it in by mail.

Lydia Ko asks for taxpayer help

I thought the headline was a joke. How can she possibly be asking for taxpayer funded financial assistance?

Lydia should pay back what they already gave her.

Someone is giving this girl some bad advice. Greed is not good.
