Actually, the caddie probably helped her win. They worked together two years ago. He is a member at Lake Merced, and a former player at USF.
That caddies head is off the chopping block for a week or two, at least …
We tend to think it’s Mom who causes the caddie changes when it might be Lydia herself. Lydia admits that she does not like being told what to do, so perhaps, if a caddie comes across as a little too bossy on shot selections for Lydia’s psyche, she gets rid of them. 🙂

“I never really hired a caddie saying I wanted to go with that person for a whole year,” Ko said. “I don’t know what it’s like out here and I don’t know the majority of the courses. … I think it’ll take time to find somebody who will suit me.”
