My player is Kristy McPherson.
The plan was for Kristy to do a First Tee event in Myrtle Beach and come back today but an eight hour wait at the Rochester airport and her flight eventually canceled, change everything. She drove here instead.
We played a late nine yesterday but prior to that, I walked the course in the morning. By the end of the day, my Google Fit app recorded over 25K steps and ten miles!
Today we played the other side early in hopes of beating the predicted storm but it never came.
While I was checking number nine yesterday last week’s winner, Eun Jeong Seong, was coming to the tee and I had to satisfy my curiosity.
During her final hole in regulation, she blew it over the par three eighteenth by five yards and did it again on the first playoff hole. I asked if she used the same club for both shots. Negatory Ghost Rider. She hit a four iron in regulation, switched to a five on the first playoff hole and eventually a six which was the perfect distance.
When “Hills” is in the name (Capital Hills Golf Course) you know you’re in for a few climbs and this track does not disappoint. There are a handful of doozies out here but 2-3 shuttle cart rides during the tournament will ease the pain.
A new light carry bag has been on order and will arrive tomorrow. I’ve been toting the tour trunk since Toledo.
