R.I.P. “Motorcycle Jim”

LPGA caddie Jim Gilmore, passed away last night at a nursing home in upstate New York. Covid-19 took another soul.

Jim was a good caddie and a friend to many. He will be missed.

Here’s Jim and Greg Sheridan in Jamaica during the golden years of the LPGA. They are now together once more, walking the fairways up high.

State Farm Classic

My player this week is Jin Joo Hong.

Touched the other nine today. A stint on the range and we be done.

A little off the top: Bill Smith, course superintendent and avid reader of my blog, tracked me down to offer thanks for the “Garden of Eden” comment but said the deep rough I found on Sunday was going to be trimmed. Sure enough, it was given quite a haircut and mowed down to a reasonable length in most places. Though there are still a few spots the ball just disappears.

Look what I found: Two veteran LPGA loopers at the Capitol City Bar and Grill.
