PHC Classic 2019-Round 1

+3 today. Faltered coming in.

Just as I got up from the seat of the port-o-let prior to warming up, I noticed that something was hanging from my back pocket. Turned out to be every caddie’s nightmare. It was my yardage book. The only thing preventing it from a dive into the abyss was the binder clip I use to keep the pages together.

Reminds of a similar story years ago that didn’t work out so well. I think the guy was working for Deb Richard. His fell out into a nearly full receptacle just before tee off and the edge stuck like a dart into a turd! He retrieved it, cleaned it the best he could then put it to use. He eventually had to fess up to what happened after she asked about the brown discoloration.

During yesterday’s practice round, we mostly putted on the front and played the back. With plenty of time to gab, we covered many subjects during the round and David Leadbetter’s criticism of Lydia Ko’s parents was one. She cracked up when I told his instruction is known as “getting a case of lead poising”.

The LPGA club repair trailer was here this week and Paul was absolutely slammed! He’ll make another appearance in Prattville.

PHC Classic 2019- Wednesday

August 7, 2019

My Player is Hyemin Kim.

It’s Pro-Am day and we are an alternate from 3-5:30.

Used a buggy to play nine on Monday and touched them all early yesterday morning.

It’s amazing the condition Brown Deer Park is in considering that it’s a public track. Excellent fairways and slick greens.

This is where Tiger made his professional debut at the Milwaukee Open. A plaque on the tenth tee commemorates his appearance.

We switched nines last year to finish in view of a new addition on the clubhouse but reversed it this year. Finishing on a reachable par five makes it more exciting.

I’m residing at the Motel 6 in Glendale. It’s a great area but the motel looks like it has many long-term, government-funded residents.

At check-in, a parking pass is issued with a warning to display it on the dash or your car will be towed. Well, this morning enforcement of the rule was initiated and at least one vehicle was taken off the premises. The owner was expressing his displeasure at the front desk when I was retrieving a cup of joe.
