This is not Mariah Stackhouse’s week. She’s gone through a couple caddies and it only got worse today. Apparently she locked her keys in her car prior to her afternoon round and of course, the clubs were in the trunk along with all her other golf paraphernalia.

The Tour scrambled to get her a rental set, a pair of shoes, gloves and balls and were ready when she arrived. After getting a lift to the course, she went right to the tee without warm-up.

By the looks of her drive on the first tee, that driver shaft may have been a bit stiff. Here’s the video.

“Ask your player.” That seems to be the standard response from the Tour Staff when inquiring about anything regarding caddie information. A perfect example was after the round today. We weren’t sure if caddies were allowed inside to eat but when a person in authority was queried, “Ask your player.” was the response. Pitiful! Caddies out here are lower than whale shit. Need to drop a note to Mike Nichols.

SRHF Classic 2017 – Wednesday

My player is Jiayi Zhou.

Through poor planning or a bit of skullduggery, we never did get to play nine holes. We went to #6 to get ahead of the crowd and was quickly dispatched off the course by two officials after hitting two shots. By then, the line was too long on both tees so we called it a day. So I go into the first round not knowing a thing about my player. May be better that way. 🙂

Heard Sir Whiff-a-Lot (aka Whiff Van Winkle) received a permanent ban on both the LPGA and Symetra for the punch he threw in Texas.

Symetra Tour – SRHF Classic – 2017

May 9, 2017

The actual name of this event is the SELF REGIONAL HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION CLASSIC but it’s too long to put in the title.

My player is Jiayi Zhou.

Picked up Jiayi through the caddie grapevine after a round of caddie musical chairs. She played a practice round yesterday with a caddie on the front and mom on the back.

I only met Jiayi briefly yesterday and of course we missed each other when she arrived today. She was done hitting balls when Tom Borwick texted that she was chipping. DOH!

It wasn’t enough that Maddie let me go after only one event but today she sailed a ball over my head out of the practice bunker. It was the only one she caught thin. 🙂

There was a double pro-am today so we just practiced. A shotgun pro-am with the Legends is scheduled for tomorrow so we’ll play nine afterward.

LPGA ‘Founders’ documentary heading to big screen – How ironic. When Mike Whan first became Commissioner, he asked for suggestions on how to improve the tour. I recalled the two hour 50th anniversary documentary special – televised on the Golf Channel – narrated by Jamie Farr. I suggested that it be mandatory viewing for all rookies to show them how the LPGA was founded. Never happened.
